After his postgraduation from KGMC, Lucknow, he has worked as a consultant in Surgical Oncology at the malignant diseases treatment centres of large teaching hospitals of the Armed Forces for 18 years.
He has trained at Tata Memorial Hospitals, Mumbai and the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He has been awarded with an International Union Against Cancer (UICC) fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. With voluntary retirement from services in year 2000,
he carried over two decades of dedicated oncology experience to Batra Hospital and PSRI, New Delhi. With his joining of Apollo Cancer Institute, he has been able to utilize his experience in major surgical resections of head and neck cancers, gastrointestinal and lung cancers and organ preservation surgeries in breast, larynx and limbs.
