About Dr. (Col) S. V. Kotwal

  • Dr. S. V. Kotwal has extensive experience in all branches of Urology and has performed one of the largest personal series of PCNL in North India (nearly 4000) and 300 renal transplants. He pioneered microsurgery in the Armed Forces and has vast experience of Uro-Oncology and Paediatric Urology. His work in Endo-Urology and Vascular reconstructions has won him international acclaim.
  • He has performed several complicated genito-urinary reconstructive operations including the very recent ‘sex change’ or ‘sex reassignment’ surgery.
    He has conducted operative workshops all over the country and actively participated in regional, national and international professional conferences.
  • Dr. Kotwal is a recognized post graduate teacher for MS (General Surgery) and M.Ch (Urology) Degrees at the University of Pune and MS Degree at Delhi University. He is an examiner and Inspector of the National Board of Examinations and also a visiting Professor of Urology at CMC, Ludhiana and Guwahati Medical College.
