Currently, he is the Chairman & Head of Adult Cardiac Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Okhla, where he also leads the Heart Transplantation and LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) program.
  • In 2008, Dr. Meharwal entered the Limca Book of Records for performing a Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) on a 94-year-old patient, the oldest person ever to undergo this surgery successfully.
  • He completed MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the University of Lucknow and then he went on to specialise in heart surgery with an MCh in Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, also from the University of Lucknow.
